Learning Objectives:

By the end of the session, participants should:

  • Demonstrate knowledge to accurately complete patient information required for lab purposes
  • Understand ethical principles involved
  • Demonstrate knowledge, skill and attitude to successfully collect quality samples with minimal trauma to the patient / client (Including elderly, paediatrics and difficult veins)
  • Demonstrate knowledge, skill and attitude to collect non-blood samples for Microbiology studies
  • Correct labelling of specimens to ensure accurate processing
