Dr Bernie van Niekerk

Dr. Bernie van Niekerk completed his medical education at the University of Pretoria in 1984. He earned his credentials as a Medical Virology pathologist in 1994. In 1995 he joined Du Buisson and Partners in the Department of Serology until 2010 when the Department was renamed Clinical Immunology. Currently, he is dedicating his full-time career to Medical Immunology at Ampath’s National Reference Laboratory in Centurion, Pretoria. His specific areas of interest encompass virology diagnosis, allergy, autoimmunity and laboratory process optimization. He is an esteemed member of the Allergy Society of South Africa (ALLSA).
