Dr Karmishtha Maharaj is a Pharmacogenomics Specialist for Ampath’s Genetics Laboratory in Centurion, Pretoria. Her professional interests are rooted in Pharmacovigilance and Pharmacogenomics, with a particular focus on minimizing adverse drug reactions (ADRs). She aims to enhance treatment outcomes by leveraging diagnostic laboratory testing to guide and optimise medication use. As PGx Specialist, she provides PGx report interpretation for clinicians and offers PGx counselling to patients and families in the presence of a registered Genetics Counsellor.
