Dr Nicolene Steyn

Dr Nicolene Steyn completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Pretoria, where she obtained her MBChB degree in 2013. She completed her internship in Pietermaritzburg and her community service in Nelspruit. During that time, she obtained a Diploma in Primary Emergency Care as well as a Diploma in Anaesthetics from the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa. She then spent several years working in Emergency Medicine and doing general practice before returning to the University of Pretoria and Steve Biko Academic Hospital to complete her postgraduate studies in Chemical Pathology. She obtained an FCPath (SA) (ChemPath) and an MMed (ChemPath) degree in 2023. After completing her studies, she joined the Ampath National Reference Laboratory in Pretoria, where she is currently working in the Specialised Chemistry Department.
